Criminology & Restorative Justice Studies

The bachelor of arts in criminology and restorative justice studies is designed for adult learners, with at least two years of post-high school life experience, who have an interest in criminology, restorative justice and victim issues. Criminology focuses on the study of criminal justice practices (not the implementation of law enforcement); this program incorporates the values of a Christian worldview into a deeper knowledge about crime and society. It helps students to understand and know how to implement restorative approaches to “justice,” and to understand various social and psychological theories on crime, criminals and society.

Distinctive Features

Fresno Pacific upholds a tradition of restorative justice and this program extends that tradition, providing the only accredited, biblically-based and theologically-informed criminology program in the Central Valley. A practicum is integrated into various modules throughout the program, and provides students with hands-on experience and an opportunity for reflective assessment.

Career Opportunities

Criminal justice is a fast-growing field of study and employment. While many agencies currently do not require a bachelor’s degree for employment, most require one for career advancement, and all can benefit from the knowledge and skills offered through this program.
