Math is foundational to almost every aspect of life: art, genetics, architecture, finance and, of course, computers. The mathematics major teaches students core mathematics principles for a wide variety of careers and interests.

The mathematics major offers two emphases to meet each student's specific career goals:

• Applied Mathematics Emphasis
• Secondary Teaching Emphasis

An advanced understanding of mathematics can be useful in technology-related and creative career fields. This major specifically prepares students for teaching careers in math and for a wide array of positions in industry and government.
