Distinguished Alumni Award Information

To nominate an alumnus for the Distinguished Alumni Award, please download the nomination form. This form is a PDF file which requires Acrobat Reader. You can download Acrobat Reader from Adobe's website.

Purpose of the Award:

To honor the alumni of Fresno Pacific University, Fresno Pacific College, Pacific College and Pacific Bible Institute who exemplify the mission and values of FPU.
To continue to expand the communication between alumni and the university.
To help alumni serve as role models for current students and recent graduates.

Criteria for the Award:

Recipient has earned a degree from Fresno Pacific University, Fresno Pacific College, Pacific College or Pacific Bible Institute, or has completed 60 units of work at one of these institutions.
Recipient should exemplify the mission and values of Fresno Pacific University.
Recipient should be recognized for accomplishments in his or her field, or for contributions to a community or society as a whole.
Recipient should be a strong supporter of Fresno Pacific University through deed, volunteerism or donation.
Recipient, or family (if recipient is deceased), must be able to attend an awards reception.

Selection Process:

Standing committee (five to seven members) recommends nominee(s) to board for final selection.
Recipients will be nominated by alumni and friends through the university website, university publications and alumni communications by a designated deadline.
Letters of recommendation need to be submitted from colleagues and friends to verify that the person meets the standards of the award.
Committee will present nominee(s) each January at the Alumni Advisory Board meeting for selection by the voting members.
Presentation of award to be made at the Distinguished Alumni awards reception.

Recipient Benefit:

Recognized at the Distinguished Alumni awards reception.
Introduced at commencement.
Invited to speak or provide invocation at commencement.
Name engraved on plaque displayed in Alumni Hall.
Reception with the administration of Fresno Pacific University and recipient's family and friends.
Picture and small biography posted on FPU website.
Media release sent to local media.
