Prior to FPU – Shay earned her letters playing for the Eagles of Clovis West High School. . was a three year starter… named to the second team All League in her sophomore year, first team her junior year, and ended her career named second team All Valley and Defensive Player of the year in the TRAC.

Personal – Shay was born and raised in Fresno…is the daughter of Scott and Rene Sample…has one young brother…enjoys snowboarding and watching the San Diego Chargers…she also plays for the Fusion Soccer club during the off-season…Shay is a communication major and wants to someday work for ESPN.
