Grants & Scholarships
FPU offers access to a wide variety of federal and state programs that are an important source of financial aid for students. Grants do not have to be repaid. We also offer a church match scholarship for our students.
Cal Grants
Cal Grants range from $8,322 to $11,259 per year for students who were California residents when they graduated from high school. To be eligible, you must complete the FAFSA by March 2 of each calendar year. Visit the California Student Aid Commission website for more information.
Cal Grants are capped at the Cost of Attendance (COA). If only enrolled in short-term classes or gap units, you will receive the cost of tuition.
Federal Pell Grant
Pell grants are awarded to every student who qualifies (Estimated Family Contribution [EFC] of $4,617 or less). Awards range from $100 to $5,550 a year depending on need, college costs, full-time attendance or less and your EFC ̶ which can be found on the Student Aid Report (SAR) provided after you complete the FAFSA.
SEOG
If you have exceptional financial need and have a $0 EFC, you may also receive a federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (SEOG). Awards range from $100 to $1,500 a year. Awards are based on financial need and availability.
Church Match Scholarship
FPU will match scholarship gifts from a student’s church up to $250 per semester, not to exceed $500 for the year. You may download the Church Match Scholarship policy for more information.
Information meetings are held on the 1st Thursday of the month from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at each center.
