Meet The Dean

Janita Rawls PhD.

Janita Rawls came to Fresno Pacific University in 1998 and is now the Dean of the School of Business.  Her research interests involve exploring methods to achieve greater organizational effectiveness. She has been able to use her organizational studies background in a variety of settings. She has consulted with nonprofit agencies regarding strategic planning as well as researching morale and productivity problems and organizational design issues. Dr. Rawls' personal research focuses on the industry of higher education, and she enjoys the organizational topic of conflict. Additionally, she researches higher educational assessment and is interested in determining greater effectiveness in the teaching/learning process.

Education:

Ph.D., 1998. Georgia State University -- Recipient of GSU Dissertation Grant Award, Spring 1997. Dissertation nominated for the Educational Policy Studies Departmental Dissertation of the Year Award.

MBA, 1991. Rider College -- Elected into membership in the Sigma Iota Epsilon Honor Society. Elective hours completed in Marketing and Organizational Behavior.

B.S., 1984. California State University, Fresno. Business Administration: Computer Applications and Systems. -- Elected to Beta Gamma Sigma Honor Society and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Magna Cum Laude Graduate.
