Supplemental Instruction (SI) Supervisor
Job Description:
The STEM program is seeking a visionary person with excellent relational skills to oversee and expand the supplemental instruction (SI) program. This position is a half-time, hourly, staff position at present, and has potential for growth. The SI supervisor will report to the STEM activity lead, who will train and support the role. However, the SI supervisor is expected to take initiative and run the daily activities of SI.

Service:
- Represent the university and manage a professional and active relationship with various FPU representatives and community partnerships.
- Identify courses for supplemental instruction and select SI leaders.
- Train, observe and regularly meet with SI leaders.
- Collaborate with faculty, staff and administrators on campus.
- Administrative responsibilities and program maintenance.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Commitment to the Christian mission of the university.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills.
- Ability to lead, teach, encourage, and work collegially with professors and students.
- Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Word and Excel.
- Customer service orientation and the ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to interact with people in a warm, professional manner.
- Ability to respond to emotional employee situations in a calming and resilient manner.
- Demonstrated organizational capabilities, detail orientation and the ability to handle multiple proprieties simultaneously.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to learn new technology.
- Supervisory experience.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in math or science.
- Ability to communicate in Spanish.
Environmental Conditions
- Indoors in normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes at least eighty percent (80%) of the time.
- Frequent computer use at workstation, up to eight hours per day.
- Frequently work at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions.
- Public contact position requiring business-like apparel.
