Oxford undergrads Jack and Charley get into a comic muddle when the cancelled visit of Charley's rich aunt threatens the success of their courtships. This popular farce premiered in London in 1892, three years before Oscar Wilde premiered his The Importance of Being Earnest, also about two young men comically risking all for the sake of love.
