The arts are an important part of a liberal arts education. Scholarship programs in theater, music and art at Fresno Pacific University encourage students to develop their imaginations, aesthetic sensibilities and skills through involvement in the artistic life of the university. The drama scholarship is awarded to students who reflect a passion for theater, a capacity for growth and leadership, and a willingness to commit the time energy and creativity required by the theatrical endeavor.
Scholarships are available to students in the areas of acting, stage managing and technical theater. All scholarships are participation-based. Hands-on training is available for some of the technical positions, but prior experience is recommended.

Scholarship recipients receive academic credit for their participation through the Company.
The Company supports the production work of the theater program. Scholarship recipients are required to enroll, but the experience is open to all students. Members register for DRA 115/315: Drama Practicum: The Company and receive 2 units of credit per semester of involvement.
The Company members participate in weekly sessions, where they receive experience in set and costume design/construction, light design, stagecraft, dramaturgy and/or publicity. Members not cast in the production also participate as rehearsal assistants, light and sound board operators, stage crew or house manager during rehearsals and performances.
