Teacher Education - Preliminary Multiple Subject Credential
Teaching is a calling to redemptive service.
The preliminary multiple subject credential offers a foundational knowledge and understanding of education principles, including directed student teaching, language and literacy, elementary mathematics and science, and teaching using technology. We expect that graduates with our credential will become scholars, professionals, peacemakers and leaders as they enter the teaching profession.

What can I do with this credential?
- The preliminary multiple subject credential is intended for graduates seeking teaching positions at elementary school grade levels.
What are the admission requirements?
- Orientation interview
- Completed application and fee
- Teacher Ed Addendum
- Three letters of recommendation
- Official transcripts from all colleges and universities attended
- Cumulative undergraduate GPA of 2.75 or better
- Application and fee for a certificate of clearance
- Verification of current negative TB test
- Verification of satisfying the basic skills requirement
- Verification of passing appropriate subject matter exam
What are my program options?
- We treat all students as individuals. The following basic plans can be modified to meet individual needs:
- Full-time student
- Part-time student until final student teaching
- All courses are offered at the main campus in Fresno, at the Visalia Center and at the the Bakersfield Center.
