What programs do you teach in?

I am the vocal coordinator and primary voice instructor at FPU. I teach the voice-related subjects such as Vocal Pedagogy, Lyric Diction, and Class Voice, as well as Introduction to American Popular Music. Additionally, I am the general director for our opera/musical theatre program known as Vocal Performance Workshop (VPW).

Professional and Service Experience

I have sung across the United States and in Canada and Europe in concert, oratorio, recital, opera, musical theatre and jazz. I have taught voice privately since 1979 and at the collegiate level since 1991. I have successfully taught students ranging from beginners of eight years old through those completing graduate degrees.

Other Information

I have been singing publicly since the age of two years and have studied music formally since the age of eight.

I am married to Rev. Wink Farrand. We have a son, John, and two dogs—one of who despises singing in any form, any style, by anyone in person, or on recording or television.
