I taught high school vocal music for twelve years—the last nine at Iowa City West High School. Under my direction, the West High Chamber Choir was chosen to perform at the 2006 North Central American Choral Directors Association convention in Omaha, and the Concert and Chamber Choirs received first place at several regional choral competitions. In 2003, the West High Music Department was recognized as a Gold Signature School by the Grammy Foundation for having one of the top seven secondary music programs in the nation. While in Iowa, I also served two terms as the Iowa Choral Directors Association Repertoire and Standards Chair for men’s music. I frequently work as a clinician, adjudicator and guest conductor, recently returning to Iowa to conduct the Junior High Boys All State Chorus. I have been featured as a tenor soloist in recitals, concerts and oratorio productions in Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan and Indiana, most recently appearing in the Lansing Symphony Orchestra production of Handel’s Messiah and performing a recital as a part of the FPU Pacific Artist Series. I have also worked as the adult and children’s choir director at a number of churches.
