Undergraduate Financial Aid Awards

Each year, FPU offers over $8 million in aid to help make our personal approach to a university education affordable. Along with institutional funds, FPU also offers several state and federal grants, as well as public and private scholarships and private and federal loans. We also offer tuition waivers for the immediate family members of FPU employees.

FPU INSTITUTIONAL SCHOLARSHIPS
  SCHOLARSHIP REQUIREMENTS
    Paragon   3.75 GPA, 1200 SAT or 27 ACT, leader in extracurricular, church and community activities. Two awards given. Student must live on campus for a minimum of two years and maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA while attending FPU.
    President's   3.6 GPA, 1150 SAT or 25 ACT, Christian commitment, history of leadership in church, school and community. New applicants must be incoming freshmen and agree to live on campus for a minimum of two years. Separate application and letter of recommendation are required. Student must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA while attending FPU.
    Provost's   3.5 GPA, new applicants must be incoming transfers with 12 transferable college units. Student must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA while attending FPU. For more information, click here for a pdf downloadable Q&A sheet.
    Dean's   3.6 GPA upon entering FPU for incoming freshmen. 3.3 GPA for incoming transfer students.
    Music   2.0 GPA, audition. Must agree to continued participation in music at Fresno Pacific University.
    Drama   2.0 GPA, audition. Must agree to continued participation in drama at Fresno Pacific University.
    Faculty   3.3 GPA upon entering FPU for incoming freshmen. 3.0 GPA for incoming transfer students.
    Athletics   Men's and women's basketball, men's and women's track and cross country, men's and women's soccer, men's and women's swimming, men's and women's tennis, men's baseball, women's volleyball and men's and women's water polo. 2.0 GPA, tryout with coach and continued participation in intercollegiate athletics.
    Church Match Scholarship   FPU will match 2:1 the amount provided by your church up to $500/semester for churches belonging to the Pacific District of Mennonite Brethren Churches. FPU will match 1:1 up to $250/semester for churches not belonging to the Pacific District.

STATE & FEDERAL GRANTS
  GRANT REQUIREMENTS
    Cal Grant   California Resident for at least a full year prior to March 2nd deadline. GPA verification and Cal grant request form submitted by March 2nd. For more information, please visit the CSAC website: http://www.csac.ed.gov.
    Federal Pell Grant   Based on financial need. For more information, click here.
    Federal SEOG   Based on financial need. Priority given to applicants qualifying for Federal Pell Grants. For more information, click here.



FEDERAL LOANS & WORKSTUDY
  LOAN REQUIREMENTS
    Stafford Loan   Eligibility for the subsidized Stafford is based on financial need and features deferment of principal and interest charges while enrolled at least half-time. As an additional alternative, the unsubsidized Stafford is for independent students and dependent students who do not qualify for the maximum subsidized version. Eligibility for the unsubsidized Stafford is not based on financial need. Click here for more information.
    PLUS Loan   PLUS Loans are available to parents of dependent undergraduate students. Parents may borrow up to the cost of education minus financial aid per academic year. The interest rate is variable with a cap of 9 percent. The borrower is generally allowed up to 10 years to repay the loan with a minimum $600 annual repayment. Click here for more information.

There are many scholarship programs other than those listed above available to students at FPU. We encourage prospective and returning students to apply to as many scholarship programs as possible to build their financial aid package. FastWEB is an Internet-based, free financial aid search service which matches individual students to over 400,000 scholarships totaling over $1 billion in aid.
