Brennen Henry

Brennan is a freshman from Clovis, California, majoring in English with a minor in biblical studies.

"I was born and raised here in Clovis, so I had heard of Fresno Pacific quite a bit, either in passing from my parents, alumni, or the news. I personally chose Fresno Pacific University because God's plan for my life so far is to be a youth pastor, and one can't find the required education at state colleges. It was important to me that my chosen college was one founded in Christ and the Good News he brought.

"Secondly, I ranked 14 in my class of 600 at Clovis High School, so my college of choice had to be one that would challenge me to be a better scholar and person in every way. Fresno Pacific University didn't meet these criteria. They exceeded it beyond my imagination. The acceptance and encouragement found in a community of learners like the one on the FPU campus provides the perfect atmosphere for becoming the absolute best person I can be for God.

"My God has great plans for me, as promised in Jeremiah 29:11, as well as for every other student on this campus. I want to make a difference in the lives of high school youth by encouraging a foundation of their identity and faith in Christ, rather than in this world. I would not have been able to recognize that calling on my life, and the reality of that calling, without the experience that being a President's Scholar at Fresno Pacific has brought. I would not be at Fresno Pacific at all without that scholarship. God has blessed me already in unbelievable ways through this scholarship and I cannot wait to see what else God has planned for me and my peers."
