Miscellaneous Benefits and Services
In addition to essential benefits, FPU offers many extra benefits and services for employees.
Athletic tickets
Faculty and staff along with their families are encouraged to attend Sunbird sporting events. At home, league games are free for employees. Proper identification is required.
Campus Mail Center
The campus mail center is located in Alumni Hall. In addition to two U.S. Postal Service pick-ups daily, items may also be shipped by UPS, FedEx or DHL. Operating hours are 10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m., Monday - Friday. The mail center is closed on Saturday and Sunday and holidays. Summer hours may be subject to change.

Casa Pacifica
Casa Pacifica is a retreat facility developed primarily for the use of FPU faculty, students and staff. It is also available to church and school groups, other organizations, and families and friends, when not used by the university.
The three-story "cabin" is located on a 5-acre parcel about 50 miles northeast of Fresno near Shaver Lake in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The facility is designed to sleep up to 24 persons in beds with some additional loft floor sleeping space.

Cellular phone services
Employees and their families are eligible for cellular phone service discounts through Verizon Wireless. Contact the Helpdesk at 559-453-3410 for further details and information.
Check cashing
Personal checks (maximum $25) may be cashed without charge at the Business Office in McDonald Hall. Proper identification is required.
College Hour
Twice a week the college community meets to consider a variety of matters related to Christian faith and life. Staff and administration are encouraged to attend College Hour sessions twice a month. Approval for attendance must be given by your department supervisor; and proper department coverage must be arranged.
Credit union
All FPU employees are eligible to join the Educational Employees Credit Union. Membership and information regarding services is available through the credit union office at 559-437-7700 or applications may be picked up in the Human Resources Office.
Dining services
Employees may purchase discounted meal tickets (10 meals) from Pioneer College Caterers for use in the cafeteria located in the Steinert Student Center.
Drama department
Plays, musicals and other individual performances are presented by the FPU drama department each year. Staff and faculty are invited to attend and receive the "FPU Community" rate which is currently only $5 for mainstage productions. For information, check their current productions or call the Theater Office at 559-453-2056.
Health services
The Nest offers a variety of services available at no charge to employees. The center is located in Schlichting Hall, room 117. Appointments can be made but are not necessary.
Hiebert Library
All Hiebert Library services are available to faculty and staff. The library is open from 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m., Monday - Friday and 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Saturday. Proper identification is required.
Music department
FPU music groups perform throughout the year. For information, check their events and performances or call the Music Department Office at 559-453-2267.
Pacific Bookshop
The Pacific Bookshop sells textbooks, general books, stationery supplies, university clothing, maps, cards, gifts, stamps and confections. Employees receive a 10% discount on purchases excluding books, electronics and already discounted merchandise. The bookshop is located in Alumni Hall and is open from 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Monday - Friday.
Recreational facilities
The weight room and swimming pool are open for use by faculty and staff during normal operating hours. Proper identification is required.
