Vice President for Finance and Business Affairs
DESCRIPTION:
Fresno Pacific University seeks applications for the position of Vice President for Finance and Business Affairs. The candidate must be able to manage diverse and complex programs, and have a proven track record as a team leader. The position serves as chief financial officer for the university; and as a member of the President’s Cabinet, President’s Council and the Faculty Session.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Financial analysis, planning and managing of the university’s resources to facilitate and support its mission and strategic plan
- Development of the university’s operating and capital budgets, guiding the university’s investments, endowments and contracted financial and risk management services
- Lead a team of directors and managers who are responsible for the daily operations of the finance, human resources, safety and security, building and facilities—including the regional centers
- Oversee the bookstore and food services operations contracts
- Oversee fiscal management of contracts and grants
- Serve as administrative liaison to the budget and finance, and audit committees of the Board of Trustees
- Provide information and communication regarding operations and finances to the university community
- Serve as administrative liaison to FPU Foundation
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelors degree in business, finance, accounting, management or related field from an accredited college or university; and current CPA, CMA, CFA, or graduate degree in related field and financial management or accounting experience in higher education or not-for-profit environment
- History of increasingly responsible appointments with at least five years of senior level experience in financial/management positions, preferably in higher education
- Demonstrated knowledge of all areas to be supervised, especially in budgeting and financial management
- Proven record as a leader who can provide strategic and creative direction while balancing the resource and funding requirements necessary to achieve the university’s strategic goals
- Commitment to the student-focused and value-centered characteristics of the university, its mission, and its Anabaptist identity
- Ability to include the value-centered orientation of the institution in fiscal analysis, planning and managing
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Personal and professional integrity and character
- An administrative style that emphasizes collaboration with faculty, staff and students; and a demonstrated commitment to diversity
