Graduate Program Representative

Part time (30 hours per week) - Bakersfield Center

DESCRIPTION:

  • The Bakersfield graduate program representative is a staff position and reports to the director of the bakersfield center. The program representative will assist in the recruitment of prospective students, informing prospective students about the programs and services offered for graduate studies. The program representative will also conduct individual and group presentations and follow up new contacts from inquiry to enrollment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the marketing and recruitment of new students from inquiry to enrollment.
  • Participate in the annual planning of the recruitment calendar.
  • Communicate with prospective students and advise them through the admissions process.
  • Work with the graduate program assistant and the program directors to follow up with the applications for School of Education programs.
  • Meet with the graduate programs directors on a consistent basis to establish a vision for increasing enrollment.
  • Conduct individual and group presentations at the local business and education employers in the area.
  • Coordinate community outreach events and booth set up.
  • Organize and conduct graduate information meetings.
  • Track student inquiry information and complete monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
  • Travel locally and regionally to recruitment fairs.
  • Work with regional center recruitment team to improve the communication processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, conducting self in a professional manner
  • Self motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Willing to work afternoon/evenings and occasional weekends
  • Experience working with K-12 educational institutions
  • Willing to travel regionally
  • Commitment to the Christian mission of the university

Desired:

  • Enrolled in or completion of a master’s degree program
  • 1-2 years experience in a university setting
  • Familiar with basic recruitment, enrollment and financial aid procedures
  • Experience in computer entry
  • Prior public relations and/or marketing experience helpful
  • Ability to speak knowledgeably on topics related to K-12 education
