Kinesiology Faculty
Jim Ave , Ph.D., ATC - Program Director
Serving as the program director for the master of arts degree in kinsesiology, Jim Ave conceptualized and developed this program at Fresno Pacific. He has been a full-time kinesiology faculty member within the School of Natural Sciences and head athletic trainer for the athletic department for close to ten years. He earned his doctorate from the University of Southern Mississippi in human performance with an emphasis in administration and teaching. His passion is to assist in the development of physical education and athletic training professionals.
Greg Graves, M.A., ATC
Greg Graves is an adjunct faculty member and serves as the assistant athletic trainer for the university's athletic department. He has been a certified athletic trainer (ATC) for eight years and has held numerous athletic training positions at community colleges, universities and physical therapy/sports medicine clinics. His expertise is therapeutic rehabilitative science and application.
Dennis Janzen, Ph.D.
Dennis Janzen is FPU's athletic director and a full-time kinesiology faculty member. He has been with the university for over 23 years. He earned his doctorate from the University of Southern California in sport psychology. His expertise is sport psychology with an emphasis in team motivation, unity and cohesion, and moral reasoning in competitive athletics.
Don Lawrence, Ed.D.
Don Lawrence is an adjunct faculty member and has taught physical education, athletic administration and outdoor recreation in higher education for the past 38 years. He was both graduate and undergraduate department chairman for Azusa Pacific University in physical education from 1982 until 2001. He has extensive research and writing experience in the area of historical biography. In addition, Lawrence has coached collegiate basketball for 18 years, coached collegiate soccer for 17 years, held numerous positions in both national and regional athletic organizations, and is presently designing historical research avenues for publication of biographies of great leaders in physical education, health and recreation.
Scott Sailor, Ed.D., ATC
Scott Sailor is an adjunct faculty member at FPU and assistant professor in athletic training at California State University, Fresno. He is a certified athletic trainer (ATC), has served on numerous thesis committees, developed several online courses, and is a technology expert.
Glenn Snyder, Ed.D.
Glenn Snyder is an adjunct faculty member at FPU and has taken professional courses relating to curriculum development at Bluffton University, Kent State University and University of Northern Colorado. He has supervised student teachers in four states and has held state teaching credentials in four states. He recently completed the level I and II trainings in the California Physical Education Content Standards. He has taught a wide variety classes, including professional courses and various service classes in the discipline of physical education. His administrative experiences include serving as HPER chairperson at three colleges and athletic director at two colleges.
Peter Wasemiller, J.D.
Peter Wasemiller is a School of Business faculty member as well as adjunct faculty member for the master's program in kinesiology. He has been at the university for 25 years and has taught numerous law classes both here at FPU and at Fresno City College.
