Pete C. Menjares
The executive committee of the Fresno Pacific University Board of Trustees has accepted the resignation of FPU President Pete C. Menjares, Ph.D., effective Thursday, September 11, 2014.
As president of a university founded on Christ, I believe in our mission to prepare students academically, professionally, personally and ethically.
God has blessed FPU and placed us in a position of unprecedented strength. The administration, staff and regular teaching faculty number 350 dedicated and committed employees. More than 3,500 students—young people right out of high school and working adults advancing in their professions or reclaiming their dream of a degree—study with us. Over 20,000 alumni are local and global ambassadors. Our main campus in Southeast Fresno and regional centers in Bakersfield, Visalia, North Fresno and Merced span the Central Valley.
We offer excellent graduate and undergraduate degrees in business, science and health, education, the humanities, social sciences, ministry and theology. Courses and programs are available online and through continuing education for professionals nationwide. Our centers—the Center for Community Transformation, the Center for Peacemaking and Conflict Studies and the Center for Anabaptist Studies—capitalize on FPU’s distinctive strengths to improve the lives of others.
Fresno Pacific is a vibrant community, offering the benefits of the arts, athletics and knowledge to our students and region. Our Sunbirds compete in 16 men’s and women’s sports in the Pacific West Conference, part of the NCAA Division II. We offer more than a dozen student vocal and instrumental ensembles and The Pacific Artist Series brings fine musicians to campus. Events like the Business Forum and Ministry Forum bring nationally known experts in a variety of fields.
In all we do, we prepare students to be leaders in their professions, communities and congregations, and we celebrate their many successes. Fresno Pacific is a hope-filled place with a heavenly purpose—where we empower leaders and transform lives.
