Coaching Minor

Coaches provide inspiration and leadership to sports teams—both competitive and recreational. The coaching minor equips students with the tools needed in many coaching roles. Certification by the American Sport Education Program is also available through this minor.

Unique Features

The coaching minor offers students the basic tools needed for coaching any type of sports program: first aid, caring for injuries (and preventing them), nutrition, an understanding of coaching methods and analyses of sports of interest to the student.

Our Graduates

The coaching minor is designed for students who would like to coach and are not majoring in kinesiology - it is ideal for those majoring in an area of education who would also like to coach in a school setting. The minor in coaching also prepares students for walk-on coaching roles in school and community programs.
