Global MBA

Leadership education should be experiential. At Fresno Pacific, we believe that the best way to educate and create new leaders is to immerse them in a learning experience. We want students to do more than learn theories; we want students to test them.

Our Global MBA program does just that. Our students embark on a life-changing journey when they enroll in our MBA program. Not only will they learn global economics, marketing in a global economy, and strategic financial management, they will use what they learn as they travel in their educational journey.

In a world of increasingly interconnected global markets and economies, a degree with a global perspective gives graduates an extreme advantage. Our unique global MBA offers an advanced and innovative business education designed to develop leaders with the highest Christian ethical standards, professional integrity, excellence and competency.

Program Details

A global experience is included in each of the first three semesters. The first two will be short term experiences, traveling domestically. Long weekend trips to Sacramento and the California border are two examples. The third global experience will be a two week international study trip. Initially these trips will be to either China or France.

These global experiences will include the cohort traveling together to visit businesses and meet with business leaders. During the semester of the international trip, students will take a course studying the destination country's culture and language to prepare them for the experience.

Why a global MBA?

  • Each of us are competing on a global basis. If our job can be done better and or cheaper elsewhere, it probably will happen.
  • All commodities that make up our livelihood and sustenance are global:oil, food, insurance, autos, production, services (financial, medical, phone support, tutoring) and the list goes on!
  • The markets are becoming a 24 hour, 7 days a week operation.
  • The Fresno area has a natural advantage in agriculture, but must create other advantages that need the global economy to give us a distinct advantage.
  • The Central Valley is inside one of the largest U.S. Foreign-Trade Zones (FTZ) in the continental United States. Because of its classification as an FTZ, the Central Valley has a high volume of international imports and exports, and is also home to international banks. A global MBA is a natural fit for this area--giving students increased exposure to globalization and offering businesses and industries graduates with the skills they require.
  • A global MBA is also a natural fit for Fresno Pacific University which includes both in the FPU Idea and in the School of Business' mission statement the goal of training our students to serve and lead across cultures and around the world. The School of Business faculty are also highly qualified. Peng Wen is originally from Taiwan and has much expertise in international business and economics; and Justin Dermon lived much of his life in France, practicing law and teaching economics and business.
