Master of Arts in Curriculum and Teaching with Reading Certificate
This master of arts degree was developed to meet the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing 1998 standards for the reading certificate. The program is designed to be extremely practical as well as theoretically sound. It provides teachers with the opportunity to learn how to instruct K-12 students, so they will become thoughtful, proficient, engaged readers.

Our Graduates
Graduates with this degree and certificate will develop the skills and expertise to facilitate curricular change to meet the needs of today's students. They will also be certified to work in one or more schools to provide: assessment and instruction for students having difficulty in reading, and instruction for prevention and intervention of reading difficulties.

Program Details
In addition to completing the required coursework, candidates must have a basic teaching credential and three years teaching experience to be granted the reading certificate.
