Master of Arts in Education: School Library and Information Technology Emphasis

FPU's master of arts degree in library and information technology is known for educational quality throughout the state and nation. The program exposes students to a set of rich experiences that prepares them to administer successful and resourceful school library programs. Providing a theoretical and practical foundation in school librarianship, students develop specialized teaching skills as well as administrative and library science and information technology skills.

The teacher librarian program is specifically intended to prepare librarians for service inside the K-12 school environment.

Admissions Requirements

Applicants must first complete the coursework for the teacher librarian services credential and successfully pass the exit interview in order to continue with the master of arts core courses. For specific requirements and forms, check here.

Program Details

Two options are available:

  • Online program - Those students who are at a distance and/or enjoy interactive learning are given the flexibility of learning at home.
  • Traditional program - Face-to-face classes are offered in Fresno or Bakersfield.

Timeline

Courses in the traditional program are in a semester format beginning in fall (August), spring (January) and summer (May). Online cohorts begin each semester as enrollment dictates.
