The teacher education program offers credential programs to candidates interested in teaching at the elementary (multiple subjects), junior high and high school levels (single subject). The courses for these credentials are solidly grounded in both theory and practice.

The credential programs have been designed to provide students with thorough preparation to teach in a diverse society. Candidates who complete their credential at FPU receive the English Learner Authorization (ELA), which authorizes holders to teach English learners in a regular classroom. The program also provides coursework in special education and educational technology.
