Criminology & Restorative Justice Studies

The bachelor of arts degree in criminology and restorative justice studies is designed for adult learners who have an interest in criminology, restorative justice and the issues of victims. Students learn to incorporate the values of a Christian worldview into a deeper knowledge about crime and society. Classroom time and coursework focus on implementing restorative approaches to justice and understanding the various social and psychological theories on crime, criminals and society. A practicum is integrated into various modules throughout the program and provides students with hands-on experience and an opportunity for reflective assessment.

What can I do with this degree?

  • Criminal justice is a fast-growing field of study and employment. While many agencies currently do not require a bachelor’s degree for employment, most require one for career advancement, and all can benefit from the knowledge and skills offered through this program. Students have a wide range of career options including youth counseling, substance abuse counseling, law enforcement, criminal investigation, corrections and probation.

What are the admission requirements?

  • Completed application form and $40 fee (fee waived if you attend an information meeting)
  • All application pieces, official transcripts, recommendation form and admissions essay
  • Minimum 2.4 GPA
  • 60 transferable baccalaureate level units
  • Two years of post-secondary work experience
