Fresno, CA – On April 13, 2007 MB Biblical Seminary’s Board of Directors took time out during their spring meeting to honor Professor Emeritus Dr. Allen Guenther for his years of service at the Seminary. A commissioned portrait was unveiled during a reception attended by Board members, faculty, staff, friends and family of Dr. Guenther.

“Dr. Guenther has been an outstanding teacher, a brilliant researcher and writer, and a wise counselor to scores of students at the Seminary,” says Seminary President Jim Holm. “In addition, he has participated actively in faculty meetings and the seminary community. On behalf of the faculty, staff and students, I am grateful for Allen’s faithful service to the Lord, to this community and to the church.”

Guenther began his tenure at MB Biblical Seminary in 1981 as Associate Professor of Old Testament. He was promoted to full Professor ten years later and was named Professor Emeritus in 1998. After many years of teaching Allen now focuses his time on research and writing in the area of Old Testament studies.

Recognition during the reception was given by the Chairman of the Board, Jack Falk and Holm. A special address was provided by former President Emeritus and friend Dr. Elmer Martens.

Dr. Guenther’s portrait will hang alongside photos of other Professor Emeriti in the faculty wing of the Seminary’s Fresno campus.

Through its campuses in Fresno, California; Langley, British Columbia; and Winnipeg, Manitoba, MB Biblical Seminary inspires and equips men and women to live as disciples of Jesus Christ, and to serve and lead in the church and in the world.
