Kilroy and Schellenberg join faculty

New dean of the School of Business John Kilroy (right) and new professor of biblical and religious studies Ryan Shellenberg (left) joined Fresno Pacific University in January.

Kilroy, Ph.D., takes over from interim dean Richard Kriegbaum. “To be a part of the leadership team involved in advancing the academic excellence of FPU is both exciting and humbling. I am looking forward to the opportunities and challenges we at the School of Business will encounter as we continue to build a bridge between the university and the communities we serve,” Kilroy said.

Before coming to FPU, Kilory was director of doctoral learning communities and assistant professor in the college of doctoral studies at Grand Canyon University. Among his accomplishments was establishing an online doctoral community network for faculty and students and developing policies and procedures for more than 1,300 students in multiple doctoral programs. His professional experience includes almost 30 years in the finance and aerospace industries.

Kilroy’s doctorate in organizational leadership is from Regent University. He also has a master of managerial arts from the University of Phoenix (grand program) and a bachelor of science in business administration from Grand Canyon University.

Schellenberg joins the biblical and religious studies faculty as an assistant professor. He has a B.A. in Christian studies from Canadian Mennonite University, an M.A. in New Testament from FPU Biblical Seminary (formerly MB Biblical Seminary) and is a Ph.D. candidate in theology (New Testament) at University of St. Michael’s College, University of Toronto. He has been an adjunct faculty in New Testament at Queen’s School of Religion, Queen’s University, Ontario, and served with Mennonite Brethren Mission & Service International in Bogota, Colombia, and worked with Mark Baker, Ph.D., FPU associate professor, to support church leaders in Lima, Peru.
