Campus comes together to present Godspell (video link)

Students, faculty and staff have all come together for Godspell: A Musical Based on the Gospel According to Matthew. The show will be March 22-April 1 in Ashley Auditorium on the main campus.

Jeff Jones (BA ’01, staff member) stars as Jesus. The rest of the cast is made up of current students: Michael Villarreal (John the Baptist, from Dinuba), Brennen Jones (Judas, from Clovis) and Devynn Braswell (Fresno), Anna Breslin (Long Beach), Mariah Caudillo (Hanford), Carina Chase (Salinas), Shane Darakjian (Fresno), Natalie Hamilton (Fresno), Steven Herevia (Dinuba), Natalia McMillan (Fresno) and Kaitlyn Nichols (Fresno) as the other disciples.

Bethany Rader (MA ’11, staff member) is the director and Mike Rader the assistant director. Several members of the FPU music faculty are also involved: Deborah Sauer-Ferrand, associate professor, is the vocal director; Zachary Durlam, assistant professor, is the choral director; and Milt Friesen, instructor, is the conductor.

The show begins at 8:00 p.m. March 22, 24, 29, 30 and 31 and at 2:00 p.m. March 24, 25, 31 and April 1. Admission will be $15 for general audiences and $10 for students and senior citizens. Tickets are available at the door or by calling 559-453-5586. More at fresno.edu/department/theater
