FPU named a top school for Hispanic students
Fresno Pacific University has been included in the top 100 institutions for Hispanics by The Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education Magazine for 2012.
Colleges and universities across the United States are ranked by degrees awarded to students from a Hispanic background earning bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degrees. Rankings are based on information from the U.S. Department of Education's National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).
“This is a great honor for FPU and a confirmation of our success in making an education based on excellent academics, professional preparation and ethical development accessible,” said Rina Campbell, director of undergraduate admissions. “California’s Central Valley is home to many Hispanic people, and we seek to represent the face of our region.”
FPU has also been named a Hispanic-Serving Institution by The Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities. HACU represents more than 400 colleges and universities in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Latin America, Spain and Portugal, representing more than two-thirds of all Hispanic college students.
The Hispanic Outlook in Higher Education Magazineis the only Hispanic educational magazine for the higher education community, covering events, news, and trends that affect multicultural institutions.
