Ron Claassen, D. Min. (BA ‘67), professor of peacemaking and conflict studies/leadership studies, received the Ester Soriano Award for Excellence in Community Mediation from the California Dispute Resolution Council (CDRC). The award was presented by Doug Noll (MA ‘02), president of CDRC board, at the group’s 18th Annual Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Policy Conference November 3 at Golden Gate University Law School.

The inauguration of the Center for Anabaptist Studies was celebrated October 11 in Ashley Auditorium on the main campus.
A new program developed by the center will be the Millennial Scholars. The initiative will bring together young adults to learn about Anabaptism and how to apply its principles in today’s world.

Douglas Noll (MA '01) celebrated the publication of his book, Elusive Peace, with a booksigining September 9 in BC Lounge on the FPU main campus. The FPU Center for Peacemaking and Conflict Studies and San Joaquin College of Law hosted the event.

Claassen, director of Fresno Pacific University's Center for Peacemaking and Conflict Studies, received the award during a dinner program Sunday June 3 at Hope Lutheran Church.

A speaker with a nationwide reputation and a film with an international scope are among the highlights of the ninth annual Restorative Justice Conference at Fresno Pacific University.
The conference, “Building the Restorative Community,” will be October 25-26 on the campus at 1717 S. Chestnut Avenue. The event is sponsored by the university’s Center for Peacemaking and Conflict Studies.
