Special attention and structure can give struggling students the edge they need to be successful in the classroom, educators were told at a conference hosted by FPU. Nearly 250 teachers and administrators attended “Putting RtI2 into Practice: Response to Instruction and Intervention with a Focus on Writing” May 12 -13 in Steinert Campus Center on the main campus.

Congressman Jeff Denham (pictured) was among the Valley officials participating in “Today’s Responsibility, Tomorrow’s Prosperity,” the Third Annual Sunbird Conservatives Conference. The event was presented April 16 by the Sunbird Conservatives Club. Devin Nunes of the 21st District also spoke, and the keynote was given by Hoover Institute Fellow Victor Davis Hanson.

About 80 parents, educators and others interested in people with disabilities attended a seminar at FPU. “Beyond Suffering: Christian Views on Disability” took place October 1-2 in Ashley Auditorium. The event was co-sponsored by Joni and Friends, a service agency for people with disabilities and their loved ones (joniandfriends.org/central-california). Speakers included Doug Mazza, president, Joni and Friends (pictured).
