On-Site Counseling celebrated its 20th anniversary May 17 with a reception in the BC Lounge at Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary.
Founded by former Professor of Marriage, Family and Child Counseling Al Dueck, Ph.D., the agency provides quality, affordable and professional counseling to individuals, couples, families and groups. There are about 40 people on staff, nine of whom are full time. Counseling students and recent graduates work part-time under the supervision of licensed marriage and family therapists, clinical social workers and clinical psychologists.

The desire to tell people what it means to fully experience God’s grace and the freedom of the Gospel led to a book by a professor and student.
Mark D. Baker, Ph. D., associate professor of mission and theology at Fresno Pacific Biblical Seminary, and his student, Kefalew Dinsa Eticha (seminary ’06) wrote Freedom Gospel (Addis Ababa: Baranna, 2011). The book is Baker’s and Eticha’s adaptation of Religious No More: Building Communitites of Grace and Freedom (InterVarsity Press, 1999), which Baker published based on his doctoral dissertation.

Peace and justice as seen by God and humanity will be the topic of the 2012 Believers Church Lecture Series March 21-22 at FPU.
Fernando Enns is the guest speaker. A native of Brazil, Enns is director of the Center for Theology of Peace Churches at the University of Hamburg and professor of theology and ethics at the Free University of Amsterdam. Among his books are The Peace Church and the Ecumenical Community: Ecclesiology and the Ethics of Nonviolence (2008) and Seeking Cultures of Peace: A Peace Church Conversation (co-editor, 2004).
