Admissions Requirements for All Kinesiology Emphases

  • Application form and fee
  • Two writing samples indicating potential graduate−level work
  • Statement of intent
  • Phone interview with the program director
  • Official transcripts of all institutions attended verifying completion of a bachelor's degree
  • Minimum GPA of 2.75.
  • Current resume including all related professional and extra curricular experience

Tuition & Fees

We now have cohort fixed pricing. This means that if a student begins next January their tuition will stay at $460 throughout their program as long as they stay in sequence, don't drop out, or fail any classes.

The School of Natural Sciences

The School of Natural Science encompasses a broad range of disciplines from kinesiology to mathematics, biology to chemistry, pre-health to environmental science. We provide an excellent preparation for professional schools such as medical, pharmacy, dental, optometric, physical therapy and veterinary schools. We also have students that successfully enter graduate schools in fields such as chemistry, molecular biology, mathematics and ecology or work in these various areas. Some students prepare themselves for teaching biology, kinesiology or mathematics in secondary schools.

Grads put the "distance" in "distance learning"

Some people take distance learning very seriously.

This December 11 eight members of the online master’s in kinesiology attended ommencement from out of state—way out of state: three from Guam, two from Seattle and one each from Boston, Denver and Chicago.

The kinesiology master's degree, one of four online M.A. programs at FPU, prepares professionals in physical education, athletic training and sports administration. Depending on when students start, the program can be completed in 14 or 17 months. Jim Ave, Ph.D., is the program director.
