The mix of strong academics and convenient access that FPU is known for has come to Merced and the surrounding area.
After more than a decade of classes in different locations in the city, FPU’s Merced Center opened this week at 3379 G Street, Building P, in the El Portal Plaza. Presently 45 students are enrolled in the bachelor’s degree completion program in early childhood development. Bachelor’s programs in liberal arts and business administration with an organizational leadership emphasis are coming in spring 2012.
The bachelor of arts degree in liberal arts provides a solid foundation for developing knowledge and practical skills, preparing students to succeed in their lives, communities and careers. Liberal arts graduates are especially well-prepared for teacher credentialing programs and for the challenges faced by educators. Not only teachers benefit from the broad, multidisciplinary approach that a degree in liberal education provides, however; the degree is useful in a variety of professional settings.
This bachelor of arts degree completion program requires all 42 units in the major be earned at Fresno Pacific University. The 82 units of general education requirements and general education electives/free electives (IGETC) complete the degree with a total of 124 units.
