MFCC students win state stipend

For the second year in a row, two FPU students have been awarded California Educational Marriage and Family Therapists (MFT) Stipends.

Graduate students Seng Leang Chea and Horacio Renteria were the winners of the $18,500 stipend. Statewide, 84 stipends are awarded through the program, administered through Phillips Graduate Institute (www.pgi.edu).

David Bruce Rose, Ph.D., associate professor, marriage, family and child counseling, led a sexual assault prevention training session for Air National Guard chaplains and chaplain assistants September 10-13 at McGhee Tyson Air National Guard Base, near Knoxville, Tennessee. Sherry Walling, Ph.D., was the other facilitator. A former assistant professor of psychology at FPU, she is currently a member of the adjunct faculty.
