Congolese congressman visits FPU

A Congolese politician with Mennonite Brethren ties visited FPU.

Lumeya Dhu Maleghi, a member of the legislature of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, spoke February 12 on the main Fresno Pacific University campus. He had earlier represented the D.R.C. at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C., February 2-6.

President Menjares speaks at SCORR conference, publishes article

President Pete C. Menjares, Ph.D., is writing and speaking about diversity. 

Menjares was the luncheon speaker on the first day of the 17th Student Congress on Racial Reconciliation (SCORR) February 22-23, 2013, at Biola University. The title of his talk was “Kingdom Proclamation: Implications for Campus Leaders.”

Intramurals host a night at Skywalk Arena (Video link)

Students and guests enjoyed a night of fun and community at the Skywalk Trampoline Arena. On the evening of February 12 students made the most of the trampoline floors, a foam pit and a dodge ball arena, all in the name of camaraderie and in the anticipation of the upcoming Intramural spring games.

Hope Nisly, M.L.S., acquisitions librarian, published “Morning in America,” a creative nonfiction/memoir, in CMW Journal, v.5, no. 1, in January 2013. Resume Rush equips students with resume-building skills (video link)

In Resume Rush, students learned vital resume-building and etiquette skills to prepare for future careers. Participants were also able to sign up for mock interviews in order to practice their interviewing skills.

CCT director attends National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C. (video link)
