Bruce Boeckel, Ph.D., associate professor of English, spoke to more than 300 California high school students at the Academic Decathlon, sponsored by the Madera County School District. The theme of the October 13 presentation was "The Age of Empire” and Boeckel's lecture was titled "Heart of Darkness: A Descent in Nightmare."
