President Pete C. Menjares, Ph.D., is writing and speaking about diversity.
Menjares was the luncheon speaker on the first day of the 17th Student Congress on Racial Reconciliation (SCORR) February 22-23, 2013, at Biola University. The title of his talk was “Kingdom Proclamation: Implications for Campus Leaders.”

On the evening of December 9, Student Life hosted its annual, 'Twas the Night Before Finals. This event gave students a break from studying, with breakfast served by staff and faculty, pictures with Santa and prizes. “Better is One Day”—the song and the psalm that inspired it—summed up inauguration week September 24-28.
Crosswind, a student ensemble, performed the song at College Hour chapel Wednesday and the banquet Thursday. Menjares made Psalm 84 the theme of his speech at the inauguration ceremony Friday.

Fresno Pacific University and other colleges and universities where Hispanics make up a significant sector of the student body are being honored this week.
A presidential proclamation designates September 16-22 as National Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSIs) Week. FPU is among the institutions of higher education named an HSI by the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities.

The inauguration of Pete C. Menjares, Ph.D., as 11th president of FPU will bring together members of the university, academic and regional communities for a week of events September 24-28 on the main campus, 1717 S. Chestnut Ave., Fresno.
The centerpiece of the celebration will be the inauguration ceremony at 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 28, in the Special Events Center.
