The FPU Board of Trustees has selected the Dingman Company, a worldwide search firm based in California, and appointed a search committee including board members, alumni, faculty and staff to lead the process to select a new president.
Current President D. Merrill Ewert, Ph.D., announced June 1 he will retire effective July 31, 2012. He took office June 1, 2002.

After leading Fresno Pacific University during nine years resulting in academic growth and financial security, D. Merrill Ewert announced today he will retire as president, effective July 31, 2012.

Education, church and community have been the three threads weaving through the career of D. Merrill Ewert, 10th president of Fresno Pacific University. In 2002, Ewert came to FPU from Cornell University where he had served as a professor in education, the director of Cornell Cooperative Extension and associate dean for outreach in the colleges of agriculture and human ecology.
