Audiences will hear three premiers for the price of one at the San Joaquin Chorale concert Saturday, May 3, 2008.
The chorale, under the direction of Fresno Pacific University professor Roy Klassen, D.M.A., will perform its spring concert at 7:30 p.m. in the First Congregational Church of Fresno, 2131 N. Van Ness Blvd.

The cinema comes to life at an upcoming concert hosted by Fresno Pacific University.
“Let’s Go to the Movies!” is the name and the theme of this year’s Unconcert. Showtime will be at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, January 25-26, in Sunnyside High School Performing Arts Theatre, 1019 S. Peach Ave.
Unconcert gives audiences a welcome break from the winter blahs and the university Concert Choir a chance to cut loose in skit and song a bit different than its usual formal fare. The choir is led by Roy Klassen, music faculty, and Robin Schwamb, student director.

A trio of Fresno Pacific University musical ensembles will be featured in a pair of November concerts.
The Concert Choir will perform at 6 p.m. Sunday, November 18, in Our Saviour’s Lutheran Church, Fresno. The 35-voice choir sings a variety of classical choral work.
The Women’s Chorale and Handbell Choir will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, in the McDonald Hall Atrium on the university campus. Each group has about 15 members and the program will include carols and secular pieces.

A requiem, madrigals and contemporary settings of traditional texts are on the program for the next San Joaquin Chorale concert, set for 7 p.m. Saturday, November 17, at Sierra Lutheran Church, Auberry.
Formerly known as Fresno Pacific Chorale, the San Joaquin Chorale is a community group of about 30 voices conducted by Roy Klassen, Fresno Pacific University faculty. Membership is by audition.
