Coaching Minor

Coaches provide inspiration and leadership to sports teams—both competitive and recreational. The coaching minor equips students with the tools needed in many coaching roles. Certification by the American Sport Education Program is also available through this minor.

Distinctive Features

The coaching minor offers students the basic tools needed for coaching any type of sports program: first aid, caring for injuries (and preventing them), nutrition, an understanding of coaching methods and analyses of sports of interest to the student.

Chemistry

Chemistry explores the composition, properties, structure, and reactions of matter. The chemistry major provides students with an understanding of the unifying themes-and diversity-of natural and synthetic materials and their importance within the environment and technology.

Pre-Health Sciences

The pre-health sciences major provides students with a broad, interdisciplinary foundation in the sciences. It prepares students for entry into medical and dental careers, as well as a variety of allied health fields: nursing, physician's assistantships, physical therapy, nutrition, medical technology and more.

Kinesiology

Kinesiology, as a scientific field, examines the anatomy and mechanics of the body's movement. This major offers students preparation for a wide host of career and training options.
