For the first time in North America, scholars are gathering to speak Greek as it was spoken in biblical times.
Brian Schultz, Ph.D., assistant professor of biblical and religious studies at Fresno Pacific University, and Randall Buth, Ph.D., director of the Biblical Language Center, are leading a Koine Greek fluency workshop through August 11. The 22 participants and five facilitators are from 10 U.S. states as well as Tanzania and Nigeria.

Fresno, Calif. - The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced today that Fresno Pacific University has been accepted into the NCAA Division II membership process, beginning a new and exciting era of FPU Athletics.
Director of Athletics Dennis Janzen received a phone call from the NCAA’s national office in Indianapolis this afternoon informing him of the decision.

The excitement of Fresno Pacific University Summer Camps continues for the third week, June 26th through July 1st with Cheer, Music, and Girl's Volleyball.
Cheer Camp was led by FPU’s Head Cheer Coach Caryn Tong as well as FPU students from the cheer team. Girls and boys ages 6-12 were taught basics such as tumbling, stunting, dance, and sideline cheers.
Walter Saul, a Professor of Music at FPU, was the Music Camp Director. Students were taught music theory and given specific instruction tailored to their area of study.

The week of June 20th through 24th was busy as summer camps at FPU continued. Women’s Soccer Camp, led by Head Coach Erik Farfan, took place on the field as well as in the classroom.
Also that week, Head Coach Erin Scholz led the Women’s Basketball Camp in the FPU Special Events Center focusing on the necessary fundamental skills of the game.

FPU hosted Basketball Camp June 13-17th. Led by assistant men’s basketball coach Aaron Henderson for boys grades 1-12 , the camp focused on basketball basics and fundamental techniques.
Also Head Swim Coach Peter Richardson taught a swim camp for boys and girls ages 10-18 focusing on breaking down and practicing professional swim technique and form.
