Evangelical Anabaptist Seminary Program (EASP), a Seminary-level education program in Winnipeg, Manitoba has changed its name to Winnipeg Centre for Ministry Studies (WCMS) effective February 1, 2006. In celebration of this change a luncheon will be held in Founders Hall on the campus of Canadian Mennonite University, March 23 from 12:00-1:30pm.

Before immigrating to Canada, Michelle Huen was an anti-corruption investigator in Hong Kong. John Mair earned a Master’s in Business Administration from Wilfred Laurier University, in his home town of Waterloo, Ontario. Cecilia Lau is a nurse in Vancouver, working with children who have cancer.

On October 29, 2005 at 6 p.m., MB Biblical Seminary will celebrate its first fifty years of ministry with a celebration dinner in Fresno, California. The event, hosted at the Sunnyside Racquet Club, is open to all alumni, supporters, and other friends of the Seminary.

Concert to benefit FPU music students
A concert will serve as the U.S. premier of a composition and a benefit for music students at Fresno Pacific University.
“Music of Peace and War” will be at 7 p.m. Saturday, November 5, 2005, at College Community Church: Mennonite Brethren, 2529 Willow Avenue, Clovis. The program features “Chungking: May 5, 1939,” with music by Larry Warkentin, FPU professor emeritus, and text by Herold Wiens.

On October 29, MB Biblical Seminary will release the book Out of the Strange Silence: The Challenge of Being Christian in the 21st Century. The 220-page book, published by Kindred Productions, features chapters by twelve of the Seminary's faculty members representing its three campuses in Fresno, California, Langley, British Columbia, and Winnipeg, Manitoba.

On May 27th, 2005, six years after the release of Mark D. Baker's book Religious No More: Building Communities of Grace and Freedom, a Spanish revision entitled !Basta de religion!: como construer comunidades de gracia y libertad is now in print.
During ten years serving as missionaries in Tegucigalpa, the capital city of Honduras, Mark and his wife Lynn developed a special relationship with Amor Fe y Vida, a church in a squatter's community. Through conversation and questions during a study of Galations, the idea for a book was born.

In April, an article by MB Biblical Seminary professor Pierre Gilbert was awarded top honors in the Evangelical Press Association (EPA)'s Higher Goals Contest. The article, entitled "The Relentless God: A reflection on Jonah," was published in the February 2004 edition of the Christian Leader, a publication of the U.S. Conference of Mennonite Brethren Churches.
