The faculty of the Biblical & Religious Studies Division at Fresno Pacific University is pleased to announce Kara J. Lyons-Pardue, Ph.D.., Associate Professor of New Testament at Point Loma Nazarene University as this year's guest lecturer.

Dr. Lyons-Pardue is an ordained minister in the Church of the Nazarene. Teaching college students to read Scripture well brings her joy, fulfilling a richly rewarding calling. In spring 2019 she became as co-director of the Margaret Stevenson Center for Women’s Studies at PLNU.

In this year’s Edmund Janzen Lectureship, Lyons-Pardue will help us consider Gospel of Mark’s rendering of Jesus’s interaction with women and how that might shape a vision of God’s view of the Gospel. We will be asked to consider
the implications of this view and how we might live into this vision of God’s kingdom. And we are encouraged to listen carefully to Jesus and hear how God might be speaking to us today.
