World-renowned pianist to perform at FPU

An award-winning pianist and Beethoven performer comes to Fresno Pacific University February 16. 

Sam Rotman received his bachelor of arts and master of music degrees from the Juilliard School in New York City. His more than 900 worldwide performances have included appearances in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Eastern and Western Europe, South America, Southeast Asia and Russia. He is also the recipient of several distinguished international awards, the most prestigious being laureate winner in the fourth International Beethoven Competition in Vienna, Austria.

His achievements include participating in the sixth International Tchaikovsky Piano Competition in Moscow in 1978 and appearing in a special Beethoven concert on the Public Broadcast System. Rotman has also released two recordings of the works of Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Chopin, Debussy and Rachmaninoff.

Rotman will also speak about his Christian testimony and on serving the Lord with one's gifts. The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. in the McDonald Hall Atrium. Admission is $5. For more information, contact the Music Office at 453-2267.
