Remembering President Henry J. Schmidt

A memorial service for Henry is planned for Wednesday February 16 at Reedley MB Church at 10:00 a.m. Henry Schmidt was a graduate of MB Bible College (Winnipeg) and MB Biblical Seminary (Fresno) and earned his PhD from the University of Southern California. Henry was a pastor in Onida, SD, served the US Mennonite Brethren Church in various roles, including conference evangelist and, later, moderator. He was a principle in the Church Mission Institute for crosscultural missionaries and is remembered for the Seminary course that included a crosscultural plunge in Los Angeles, known affectionately as the "Schmidt Blitz." Henry Schmidt will be remembered as a man with a great heart for people, a powerful vision, a commitment to mentoring students and church planters, and a passion for his Lord. Memorial gifts may be made to the seminary's "Henry J. Schmidt Multi-Cultural Leadership Scholarship" at MBBS-US, 1717 S. Chestnut Ave., Fresno, CA 93702.

If you were unable to attend the funeral we have posted it online.
