February 2017 Alumni Update

Emily (Wright BA ’16) Mooney and husband Benjamin are missionaries with Bethel Ministries International in Guatemala. BMI, an inter-denominational ministry, exists to advance a social transformation by sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. BMI travels throughout the country giving out wheelchairs, food and clothing as well as building houses for those in need. Emily and Benjamin are ecstatic to be living out God's calling on their lives in Guatemala.

Michael Smith (BA ’16) participated in the pediatric residency research group (UCSF Fresno Pediatrics) researching accessibility to services for families that have children with Down Syndrome in Fresno County. The group’s research was accepted by the Western Medical Research Conference that took place January 26 in Carmel, CA.

Edgar Olivera (BA’10) will be the administrative assistant for the nonprofit agency, Centro La Familia Advocacy Services, Inc., Fresno. He had been media relations coordinator at the Consulate of Mexico in Fresno.
