FPU Symphonic Band joins Fresno State festival

The Fresno Pacific University Symphonic Band participated in the Lawrence R. Sutherland Wind Festival at Fresno State University.

The FPU musicians—conducted by Erik Leung, D.M.A., assistant professor of music, director of bands and coordinator of instrumental music—were among more than 1,500 students in the festival March 24-26, 2017. Five universities were included, along with three junior colleges, 16 high schools and three middle schools.

Concerts began at 8:30 a.m. March 24, continuing in half-hour increments until 9:30 p.m. and continuing 1:00-5:00 p.m. March 25 and 1-3:30 p.m. March 26. The event is named in honor of Fresno State’s director of bands from 1969 to 2006.
