Rod Janzen, Ed.D. receives awards at annual conference of the Communal Studies Association

Rod Janzen, Ed.D., professor of history, received two awards at the annual conference of the Communal Studies Association (CSA) October 1-2: the CSA book award for The Hutterites in North America (written with anthropologist Max Stanton and published by Johns Hopkins University Press) and the Distinguished Scholar award, for those who have, according to the association, "contributed greatly to the study of communal societies past and present." The award was based on Janzen's books and articles on the Hutterites, Synanon, the Old Order River Brethren and Amana as well as his service as editor of the CSA academic journal, Communal Societies, since 1999.
