Fresno Pacific University responds to tragedy

Fresno Pacific University students, faculty and staff and would like to express their deep sympathy for all touched by today's tragedy. The following steps have been taken to respond to these terrible events:

  • Day and evening classes are meeting as scheduled. Faculty may decide to alter their lesson plan to address what is happening.
  • Informing people that our two students studying in Washington, D.C., are safe. They are part of a program with the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities.
  • Working with people all over campus to be sensitive to people in any way affected by the day's events, including people with family or friends in Washington, New York or on the aircraft. On-campus counseling is available.
  • The student life division is hosting a prayer vigil beginning at 12:40 p.m. today. Wednesday's College Hour, at 10 a.m. in Butler Mennonite Brethren Church, will also be a prayer and worship service.
